Natural Abilities encompass a diverse range of powers, including both magical and non-magical capabilities that can be used at the creature's discretion, all without expending more than a single action point. These abilities possess an extraordinary nature, often manifesting spell-like effects without the need for traditional casting or energy discharge. Unlike spells, these powers cannot be disrupted by combat. They lack any verbal or somatic components and do not necessitate concentration.

However, the magical nature of some abilities, such as charm and fear, can be shielded against and their ongoing effects dispelled. Other attacks cannot be, however, such as the creation of objects, transportation, summoning and the like.

When a natural ability functions in a spell-like manner, the range, duration and area of effect is measured by the creature's hit dice or level (whichever is highest).
