Penetrate disguise is a spell that empowers the caster to unveil the truth concealed behind either a magical or non-magical disguise, effectively countering the effects of spells like alter self, change self, friends, polymorph, shape change, hallucinatory forest, tree, avatar, meld into stone and similar magical enchantments.

The dweomer also possesses the ability to expose conditions such as demonic possession, though it cannot reveal the exact nature of the demon itself. Yet it lays bare the real appearance of the individual under the disguise.

When employing the spell, the caster must maintain concentration while inspecting his or her surroundings or specific beings for a disguise. Each round, one object or individual may be perused by the spell, up to a maximum of ten attempts. Each attempt requires one round, or 12 seconds, to fully examine before the disguise is revealed.
