Cloak of Fear (spell) b.jpg

Cloak of Fear is a spell that creates a protective field that instills dread within any hostile entity attempting to attack or lay hands upon the caster. Those approaching within one hex must make a save vs. magic or else run away for no less than six rounds.

Cloak of Fear
Range self
Duration 3 rounds per level
Area of Effect 5 ft. circle
Casting Time 2 rounds
Saving Throw none; see text
Level cleric (4th)

In addition, the cloak offers protection against fear effects caused by others, whether they are natural abilities or spells. While wearing the cloak, the caster can remain resolute in the face of such fear-inducing instances. Take note, however, creatures that naturally instill fear, such as certain undead, are immune to the cloak's effects.

If the caster wishes, the cloak can be made to manifest visibly. In that event, it appears as a ghostly semi-translucent shape that drapes over the shoulders, melding seamlessly with the wearer's form. This feature adds 1 point of charisma to the caster, due to a moderate sense of awe to which the image contributes.

The spell is quite able to be used in tandem with magical cloaks.
