Identify Mammal (sage ability).jpg

Identify Mammal is an amateur-status sage ability in the study of Mammals that allows for recognizing a particular mammal species by studying their tracks, traces, spoor and behaviours unique to specific mammalian species.

The ability also includes an understanding, in cases of unusually large or threatening mammalian forms, of the primary dangers these creatures present. This encompasses details such as the number and form of its attacks the animal can make per round, the armour class of the animal and its approximate weight and the number of hit dice it possesses.

This knowledge extends to recognizing additional advantages such as its tendency to charge, trample, surprise opponents or avoid surprise, along with other natural abilities it may have. The ability also grants knowledge of a mammal's habitat, diet, social structure and life cycle.
