Frost giants are reclusive, towering beings who inhabit the vast, glacial expanse of Jotunheim, a frigid and inhospitable land found north of the European continent between the Barents and Kara seas. These giants possess immense strength, their bodies thick with muscle and covered in pale, frostbitten skin that blends with the icy landscape. Their hair and beards, often ranging from white to icy blue, are worn long and braided in elaborate patterns, reflecting their warrior traditions.

Though isolated from the world of humans, frost giants share many cultural traits with Viking raiders, adhering to a strict warrior code built upon honour, strength and survival in the harshest of conditions. Their society is built around chieftain-led clans, each ruling over vast territories of frozen mountains, tundra and ice-locked fjords. They reside in colossal longhouses, constructed from ice, stone and the bones of sea beasts, their walls adorned with trophies from great hunts and victories over rival clans or foolhardy invaders.

Despite their size and power, frost giants are not needlessly aggressive. They are reclusive, self-sufficient and deeply tied to their homeland, viewing outsiders with suspicion and often reacting with hostility to any intrusion. However, they respect strength and courage and those who can prove their worth — whether through combat, endurance or feats of skill — may earn a frost giant's begrudging respect.

The giants are masterful shipwrights and seafarers, crafting massive ice-reinforced longships that sail the Arctic waters. They hunt the great leviathans of the northern seas and fish beneath the frozen waves, their survival tied closely to the rhythms of the ice-bound world. Legends tell of their warbands launching daring raids on distant shores, their massive ships emerging from the mists like phantoms before vanishing into the storm. As a result, Frost Giant enclaves exist in many places around the rim of the Arctic Ocean.

Jotunheim itself is an unforgiving realm of jagged glaciers, frozen rivers and eternal winter, a place where only the hardiest beings can survive. The frost giants thrive in this environment, wielding weapons forged from enchanted ice and hardened iron, capable of shattering stone and freezing flesh on contact. Some wield powerful rune magic, calling upon the primal forces of winter to shape blizzards, freeze lakes and summon ice-bound spirits to fight at their side.

To the few who have glimpsed them from afar, frost giants are a terrifying and majestic force, the embodiment of winter's wrath and the untamed might of the frozen north. Those who trespass into Jotunheim uninvited often find themselves facing an implacable enemy — one that sees the weak as little more than snow beneath their boots.
