Hairy causes hair, fur or bristles to grow, until a minimum length of 18 inches is produced. If the recipient's hair is more than 9 inches before the cantrip's effect, it will be increased until its twice normal length.

Hairy
Range 10 ft.
Duration permanent; see text
Area of Effect 1 creature
Casting Time 2 action points
Saving Throw none; see below
Level cantrip

Since the effect is permanent, and the creature's hair will continue to grow normally whether or not it's cut, there's a potential for creating hair of excessive length similar to that of Rapunzel ... understanding, of course, that this could become a considerable impediment.

Hair growth occurs at a speed of 1 inch per second (12 inches a round), which is shocking for unsuspecting recipients. Once affected, creatures must make a save vs. magic or be motionless with panic for 1 round; thereafter, they must make a morale check to remain in combat.

If they are determined to continue fighting, then until they can manage the hair growth, they will be -4 to hit with weapons. Most combatants so affected will give ground until they can either tie their hair with a thong (2 rounds, assuming they have such an item) or use a blade to rapidly cut it (3 rounds).
