Blade Barrier (spell).jpg

Blade barrier conjures a barricade of circling, razor-sharp blades that surround the area of effect. These whirl and flash in endless movement, causing 8-64 damage to any creature moving into or through any hex protected by the blades.

Blade Barrier
Range 20 ft.
Duration 3 rounds/level
Area of Effect 4 hexes; see below
Casting Time 2 rounds
Saving Throw none
Level cleric (6th)

Once cast and discharged within the spell's range, the four hexes protected by the blades are fixed. The caster can move through the blades, causing them to part at will, both for his or her self or for others — however, if others are to be allowed in or out, the caster can perform no other actions that round except to concentrate on the blades.

The blades reach upwards 20 feet, protecting those inside from diving attacks by aerial creatures. The spell doesn't guard against the ground, however, so digging creatures could break into the protected space depending on the ground's surface.
