Locate plants allows the caster to find a specific genus or species of plant within the spell's range. Once discharged, every individual of that type is revealed. If a "genus" is sought, no distinction will be made for species-type.

Duration | 6 rounds per level |
Area of Effect | self |
Casting Time | 1 round |
Saving Throw | none |
Level | druid (2nd) |
Only one type of plant may be found per use of the spell. Once cast, the knowledge remains for the spell's duration, enabling the caster to move about and collect as much material as he or she is able. Fruits, roots or nuts may be identified by the spell, providing as much food per level as an ordinary forager would find in a ½-day, searching the same vegetation. Obviously, a new area must be searched each day.
If the caster desires, the spell can reveal the nearest plant of any type to the caster, should the spell be used to search a desolated area.
The spell cannot locate plants that are separated from the caster by a four-inch thick obstruction.
