Spectral Milieu is a spell that conjures the illusion of a tranquil, untouched sanctuary, shielding those within from the immediate environment. It manifests primarily as a glade, unaffected by extreme heat, freezing cold or the harsh terrain of equatorial or polar regions.

Within the area of effect, the surroundings become warm and temperate, with soft grass or clover to lie upon, trees to rest against and a clear pool for bathing. The milieu offers shade from the sun, a complete absence of wind or rain, and immunity from any climatic or geological disturbances, including storms, lightning, floods, lava flows, earthquakes and other natural hazards. However, the sanctuary itself is an illusion — while it provides respite, it does not physically exist.
Protection
While the dweomer offers no physical barriers or protections against intruders, the milieu remains hidden from those outside. To an outsider, the area appears as it was before the spell was cast — whether barren rock, windswept tundra or a snow-covered clearing. Only creatures already within or familiar with the spell can recognize its boundaries. Intelligent beings who enter may experience a shift in demeanor, as the spell's serenity encourages parley and negotiation.
Though temporary, the milieu provides a vital refuge in dangerous environments. It may offer relief from the elements until aid arrives or serve as a place of uninterrupted rest, allowing spellcasters to recover and rememorize spells. Unlike the illusion itself, rest and sleep gained within the milieu remain once the spell expires, as these are intrinsic to the mind and body rather than external conditions.
Sustenance
Those within the milieu experience neither thirst and hunger for its duration. Water from the pool is refreshing, the fruits on the trees are ripe, while a suckling pig may even be found among the undergrowth. When the spell ends, the food and drink that are consumed lasts for but an hour, whereupon the character will need to fortake of what supplies they possess.
