Locate Animals (spell).jpg

Locate Animals provides the caster with knowledge of all animals within the spell’s range, including their exact number and location. In most environments, the same variety of animals — birds, lizards, fish, small mammals — will typically be present, offering a reliable sense of the area’s fauna. However, an absence of animals altogether is a clear indication that something unusual or dangerous may be occurring nearby.

When used to assist a hunter or angler, the spell can significantly enhance the yield of food — not only as meat but also in locating bee hives to obtain honey or roosting birds to gain their eggs. Through these sage abilities the caster can increase the amount of food gathered by 50% per caster level per day. This assumes the spell is cast strategically, based on the guidance provided by the expert.

Because the spell reveals the presence of all animals within its range, it is unnecessary to specify a particular species. The caster will automatically gain knowledge of all nearby animals and their locations simultaneously, making it a comprehensive tool for understanding the local wildlife.
