Dust (cantrip).jpg

Dust is a cantrip that eliminates dry powder and particles, carrying out a thorough cleaning of surfaces including floors, shelves, walls and more. It excels at clearing away grit from intricate mechanisms like clocks, telescopes, crossbows and other precision tools. When applied to a pile of dust, the spell completely removes up to a cubic foot.

The removed detritus is transported into the Astral Plane, ensuring that no cloud of dust is generated as a result of the dweomer. Consequently, the cantrip cannot be used to collect valuable materials such as explosive powder, sulphur, talc or guano.

Grit that's combined with grease to form a gumbo-like substance remains unaffected by the cantrip, as it requires proper cleaning to be addressed. Additionally, the cantrip has no impact on dust devils or other elemental creatures.

Dust effectively erases evidence of footprints. This doesn't hinder tracking creatures, as they can still detect the scent of their prey in the air. Nonetheless, said removal might fool a guard or shopkeeper, who would probably not notice that a slightly dusty floor is now clean.
