Woodcraft (cantrip) b.jpg

Woodcraft is a cantrip that manifests any ordinary household item crafted from ordinary wood, of very limited value, to a size up to 18 inches in diameter or height. Metal fixtures sufficient to hold the woodcraft together are likewise created. Carving or smooth-polished wood cannot be created. Once formed, the object persists until dawn or until it breaks.

Contents

Possible items include a bowl, spoon, utensil, smoking pipe, candleholder, whistle, toy, wind vane, birdcage, ball, box, bucket, doorstop, hatchet handle or small chest. The precise wood used may be variously pine, fir, spruce, oak, chestnut, maple, yew, ash or cedar, but no other. Each is solid and performs as intended for use or for the carrying of heavy objects.

The object emits a very weak magic signature for the purpose of detection.

Limitations

The dweomer cannot create a club or any other object with sufficient durability to be used as a weapon. Wooden items can be thrown as a missile, causing 1-3 damage if a to hit roll is successful. Objects will break apart and become useless the first time they cause or sustain damage.
