Break (cantrip).jpg

Break causes fabricated objects of any natural material to crack or fracture, as if from a strain; however, the cantrip does not have the ability to cause the shattering or disintegration of things. The effect will cause whatever contained contents in the object to leak out, as the object falls apart — as well, the article that's broken is made useless for its purpose.

If cast upon a lighted object containing flammable liquid, such as a lantern or flask of oil, the contents will spread over an area of one hex, catching fire. Anyone caught in the hex will suffer 1-4 damage.

The break will make a sound, though the loudness is reduced to 50% of normal. There's a chance the sound will go undetected by listeners beyond 20 ft. Each potential listener must succeed at a wisdom check, adjusted by a penalty of -4, or the sound will go unnoticed.

The cantrip cannot affect an object in motion.
