Drip is a cantrip that creates a dripping noise akin to water hitting either a solid surface or a fluid, adjusted according to the caster's preference. This auditory effect persists as long as the caster maintains their focus — which means only that the caster is suspended from casting other spells or engaging in combat if the dripping sound is desired. The caster may sleep, if wishing to do so.

The sound can be especially aggravating, making it 90% probable that an intelligent listener will investigate the source. Due to the repetitive and persistant nature, the drip denies an unknowing listener the ability to sleep, or study, including the learning of spells.
