Break (cantrip).jpg

Break causes fabricated objects of any natural material to crack or fracture, as if from a strain; however, the cantrip does not have the ability to cause the shattering or disintegration of things. The effect will cause whatever contained contents in the object to leak out, as the object falls apart — as well, the article that's broken is made useless for its purpose.

Break
Range 10 ft.
Duration permanent
Area of Effect 1 object
Casting Time 2 action points
Saving Throw none
Level cantrip

If cast upon a lighted object containing flammable liquid, such as a lantern or flask of oil, the contents will spread over an area of one hex, catching fire. Anyone caught in the hex will suffer 1-4 damage.

The break will make a sound, but the audibility will be only 50% of normal. There's a chance the sound will go undetected by listeners beyond 20 ft., if they fail a wisdom check — the check is adjusted by a penalty of -4.

The cantrip cannot affect an object in motion.
