Blink (cantrip).jpg

Blink is a cantrip that induces the recipient to blink repeatedly, temporarily obstructing their vision. Upon being cast, the recipient helplessly blinks multiple times — and if they fail their saving throw, all attacks are -4 to hit. If the saving throw is made, the cantrip has no further effect.

Blink
Range 10 ft.
Duration 1 round
Area of Effect 1 creature
Casting Time 1 action point
Saving Throw negates
Level cantrip

When surrounded by darkness, creatures that fail save against the cantrip will be momentarily disoriented and confused, increasing their chance of being surprised to 1 in 3.

The cantrip can improve an ally's saving throw against gaze attacks by +4, if the recipient doesn't make their saving throw against blink's effects. If used on a creature previously blinded by a light spell, the creature is granted a second saving throw, restoring their normal vision.

When cast upon creatures whose eyes are intrinsic to their specialized form of attack, like blindheims or beholders, and the affected creature fails its saving throw, its eye attacks become disrupted for one round.

The cantrip has no effect on creatures devoid of eyes.
