Hold Animal holds animals of any size rigid for the duration of the spell. Those chosen for the spell are entitled to a saving throw. The spell affects animals only; it has no effect against magical creatures such as manticores, gorgons, harpies, chimera, fire salamanders, flame snakes, nightmares and so on.
