Hold Animal (spell)

Jump to navigationJump to searchHold Animal holds animals of any size rigid for the duration of the spell. Those chosen for the spell are entitled to a saving throw. The spell affects animals only; it has no effect against magical creatures such as manticores, gorgons, harpies, chimera, fire salamanders, flame snakes, nightmares and so on.

Held animals can take no action; however, if a creature is struck or attacked, the spell’s influence on that creature will be broken.
Creatures with less hit dice than the level of the caster suffer a –2 penalty to their saves.
