Sylvics (sage ability)

Sylvics is an amateur-status sage ability in the study of Trees, largely related to identifying trees' genera and species, as well as their general health, age and practical use. The study should not be confused with silviculture, which applies to a whole forest. Sylvics is the study of individual trees.

The study gives insight into the true nature of trees, enabling the possessor of this knowledge a saving throw against magic when confronted by spells such as tree, massmorph or hallucinatory terrain. This knowledge will also identify the location of a dryad before it emerges from a tree if it is the dryad's intention to speak with the party or be aggressive.
