Extension I (spell)
Extension I is a spell that allows the caster to prolong the duration of a previously cast spell of 1st, 2nd or 3rd level enchantments by 50%. This extension applies only to spells where the passage of time is a meaningful component of the spell's effect — such as those with durations measured in rounds, turns or hours. It does not affect spells that are instantaneous, permanent or whose effects are tied to conditions rather than time. The dweomer has no effect upon the potency of a spell, only its duration.

The spell must be cast while the original spell is presently ongoing, so that it has time to extend the existing duration before it expires. The effect does not restart the previous affected spell's duration, it only adds to the overall time that it remains in place. The spell cannot be used to affect spells cast by other persons, regardless of their character class. For multi-classed casters, the spell can be used to affect the durations of bardic, clerical, druidical or illusionary magic, since the caster is capable of using both magical enchantments and dweomers of these other types.
Notes on Affected Spells
Enchantments that immobilise or incapacitate, such as hold person or web, become significantly more potent when prolonged, especially in low-level encounters where foes may lack the means to resist or dispel them. Spells that affect movement, such as levitate, fly or run, allow a better opportunity for scouting or evasion, allowing greater advantage if attacking from the air, exploring an area or seeking aid.
The spell invites complications when used on spells whose durations are variable or non-specific, most notably invisibility and it's 3rd level improved counterpart, which rely more upon the caster's movements or choices rather than a set time. In such cases, the dungeon master must use their judgment, making notes for each spell as those issues are encountered.
