Military stables are elaborate facilities, providing training grounds, barracks for soldiers, farriers and blacksmiths, a track for running and even a building for indoor training. A more common form consists of a rough building with a dirt floor, three-sided stalls for resting and grooming horses; communal feeding troughs; pens for pigs, sheep or goats; corrals for cattle; and places upon which to hang tack and other tools and gear. What's supplied depends upon what other facilities are present.
