Spider (cantrip) b.jpg

Spider is a cantrip that conjures a diminutive arachnid within a 10-foot radius of the caster. This arachnid can traverse an additional 10 feet from its summoning point to deliver a bite to a target creature, inflicting 1 hit point of damage without requiring a roll to hit.

Casting Time 2 action points
Saving Throw none; see text
Level cantrip

Besides the aforementioned damage, there's a 3% chance per caster level that the spider is also exceptionally venomous. In such cases, the target must make a saving throw vs. poison. If this is unsuccessful, the poison inflicts 5-12 (d8+4) damage in a single jolt ... though there are no lasting effects from this.

The small size of the spider makes it possible for the caster to send it through a window pane or under a door, so long as line-of-sight is in some way maintained with the victim. It's well to remember that everything about the spider is magical, so that the body of the spider and the poison it might possess both evaporate when the cantrip's duration ends.
