Purify Water is a spell that converts tainted or dirty water into crisp, clear liquid; the dweomer can also change water-based drinks like wine or beer into pure water. The spell has no effect upon liquids that are primarily devoid of water, like the acid vitriol for example. Parasites or speck-sized creatures are destroyed by the spell.

Purify Water

Duration permanent
Area of Effect 8 gallons per level
Casting Time 1 round
Saving Throw none

The water's temperature cannot be intentionally altered, though a container full of ice can be melted to form liquid with a temperature just above freezing. Boiling water that's transformed is cooled to the temperature of bath water.

Purified water used in cooking and food preparation helps ensure a better meal,

Contaminate

The reverse of the spell, Contaminate, causes water to acquire a harsh mineral and metal taste, from the conjuration of tiny amounts of each. The spell can't be used to create parasites or poison, or to transform water into wine or like substance. The effects of contaminate will spoil both unholy and holy water alike.
