Outer Planes (sage study).jpg

Outer planes is a sage study in the field of Power, examining the planes of existence beyond the Prime Material. The study provides details, including each plane's natural laws, moral code, reason for being and general extent. The study does provide some knowledge regarding the resident (heroes, demi-gods or manifestations) that dwell upon these planes, but this knowledge should not be confused with other studies that provide detailed knowledge of these things. Knowledge of the outer planes focuses far more upon each plane's structure than it does upon its residents.

Initial knowledge points must be assigned by choice to a specific outer plane. Each time the character rolls thereafter, the new roll may be applied to a different outer plane or to ones already chosen. Knowledge directed towards one outer plane cannot be applied to any other.

The character has no knowledge whatsoever of outer planes outside their assigned knowledge points.

Sage Abilities

The sage abilities below are those acquired by a character through the study, according to status.

Amateur Status

  • Essence: provides a general illustration of the known outer plane.
  • Transmogrification: provides an explanation elaborating on how living, become the dead, become residents of a known outer plane.

Expert Status

  • Recover Soul: gives knowledge of the path leading to a lost soul, and the means by which the soul may be recovered.
