Dog training is a sage study in the field of Animal Training, which enables the use of dogs as working animals and companions, giving the character skill in rearing, breeding and training of dogs. Abilities should include domesticating wild dogs & wolves, hunting, protection, assist in the capture of prey, tracking, sheep-herding, obeying verbal commands, attacking, dog-sledding, scouts, search and rescue, sniffing out specific substances, identifying enemies and acting as guards, as well as the development of more powerful and intelligent dogs.

Sage Abilities

The sage abilities below are those acquired by a character through the study, according to status.

Amateur Status

  • Canine Handling I: gives the ability to use war dogs in various wartime practices, including tracking, search and rescue, and providing security.
  • Dog Feeding & Diet: provides knowledge in these matters, ensuring the continued vigour of canine allies.
  • Domesticate Dogs: gives the basic training to dogs, enabling them to respond to basic commands in order to perform as working animals.

Authority Status

  • Canine Handling II: provides greater control in managing the dog's form of attack and general use in battle conditions.
  • Dog Physiology: includes the maintenance and restoration of health in dogs.
  • Truffle Dog: enables the training of a dog or swine to hunt and root out truffles; the character must also possess the mushroom hunt ability.
  • War Dog Training: inculcates basic war dog training into ordinary dogs, enabling them to perform effectively in combat.
