Hammers are symbols used on game maps to represent the number of accumulated facilities that a given civilised hex has constructed and presently maintains.
The number of hammers ranges from 0 to 6, as determined by the hex type, which is a product of infrastructure. A bonus +1 hammer is given if either a river or a settlement is present.
