Maxwell (talk) As a linguist with extensive knowledge of what it feels like "from the inside" to learn a new language to fluency, and to diligently compare/contrast language data at every level - syntax, semantics, sound patterns, syllable timing, idioms... perhaps I could help come up with abilities for this one. Off the clock of course!

Tao alexis (talk) You'd do better than me. This one stumps me a little. Let me offer a guideline:

Amateur: gain knowledge in subject (know a few languages).
Authority: gain physical skills/interpretive knowledge in subject (highly multilingual, comprehend full linguistic syntax).
Expert: expand subject into slightly unreal bounds (languages humans can't possibly speak, interpret non-spoken languages like dance or movement of tree branches for treants)
Sage: expand subject into greatly unreal bounds (produce impossible sounds, mimic the sounds of other persons)

Tao alexis (talk) We can move abilities around once you invent them. Everything ought to contribute to the game's playability somehow.

Maxwell (talk) I'll start cogitating.
