Identify Amphibians & Reptiles (sage ability)

Identify amphibians & reptiles is an amateur-status sage ability in the study of Amphibians & Reptiles which allows identification of both amphibians and reptiles, in whatever form they may take throughout their development. The skill provides identification of discarded skin casings and of eggs.

In addition to their identification, the character will also be aware — where monstrous forms of amphibians or reptiles occur — the principle threat the animal imposes. Specifically, knowledge of threat includes the number of attacks the animal possesses per round, what parts of the body are used in attack, the armour class of the animal and its approximate weight and hit dice.

This knowledge includes if a reptile possesses a dangerous poison, but does not extend to any other special attacks or defences an amphibian or reptile has.
