Woodland foraging is an amateur-status sage ability in the study of Forester. Similar to foraging, this provides the character with an ability to locate edible animal and vegetable matter in a forest environment. With regards to edible subterranean flora and fauna that is raised by underground intelligent species, the ability also gives knowledge of what domesticated foods can be eaten safely and by which races.

In a period of 1 to 10 hours of searching outdoors, a skilled forager will be able to find 1-6 lbs. of food daily in a tundra or boreal forest, or 2-12 lbs. in a deciduous or wet forest. There is a only a 1 in 4 chance of the character finding 1-4 lbs. of food in a thorn forest, in such cases, the attempt to find food will produce nothing at all.

The length of time spent searching is "1 to 10 hours," unlike with ordinary foraging, because all the available food may well be found with less than a full day's work.
