Water Breathing is a spell that bestows upon its recipient the ability to respire underwater with the same ease as one would breathe air, effectively transcending the limitations of the aquatic realm. As the magic takes hold, the individual is no longer constrained by the need for gills or air tanks, finding themselves capable of inhaling and exhaling in the watery depths without impediment.

Water Breathing
Range touch
Duration 1 hour per level
Area of Effect 1 creature; see text
Casting Time 2 rounds
Saving Throw none
Level druid (3rd); mage (3rd)

The spell offers additional safeguards against the unforgiving forces of underwater pressure. The enchantment allows the recipient to venture into the depths up to 30 feet per level of the caster without experiencing the water's weight.

This allows delving into submerged caverns, investigating sunken wrecks, or navigating the labyrinthine depths of an oceanic abyss.

For every two levels beyond the 4th of the caster the spell is extended to one additional creature. This allows two creatures at 6th level, three at 8th, four at 10th and so on.

Reverse

The reverse of the spell, "Air Breathing," allows water-breathing creatures to survive in the atmosphere for an equal duration. As well as the creature is able, it can breathe air and move on land without suffering no more effect from the atmosphere or the sun than a human would.
