Insight is a sage study in the field of the Way of the Spirit, whose practitioners have forged a profound connection with the accumulated knowledge of their ancestors and the guardian spirits of their traditional household. By honouring these legacies, the character is able to invoke hidden reservoirs of knowledge and hidden truth about their environment.
Through meditatation, they achieve a heightened state of awareness, transcending the boundaries of the physical world. In this trance, they unlock the secrets of the universe, discern hidden truths and perceive the subtle threads of destiny that weave through their lives.
Sage Abilities
The sage abilities below are those acquired by a character through the study, according to status.
Amateur Status
- Commune with Ancestor: engage in a ritual by which knowledge can be tapped from an ancestor's list of sage abilities; the ancestor is specifically designated and their abilities are pre-determined; this knowledge must also be intuitive and not interactive.
- Sense Attention: identify if the party is being watched and by whom.
- Sense Vibration: feel adjustments to walls and floors more easily than others.
Authority Status
- Commune with Reliquary: detect the base nature of all magic items, including artifacts.
- Inner Sight: be conscious of the surroundings while in a state of meditation (one hour per level).
Expert Status
- Cast Eye: extend the vision outside the body.
- Guardian Spirit: a member of the spirit realm able to manifest in order to provide protection, guidance and wisdom.
- Other World Eye: see into the ethereal plane.
Sage Status
- Other World Sight: visually locate any known being through the astral plane.
