Gather (cantrip).jpg

Gather will pull together various scattered objects, such as loose coins, the broken parts of a dropped object or general equipment, nails, papers, beads, small stones and otherwise, assembling it into a neat stack or pile; if an associate holds open a sack, chest, box or backpack within the area of effect, the caster can induce the gathered items to flow into the container.

Gather
Range 10 ft.
Duration permanent
Area of Effect 1 combat hex
Casting Time 2 action points
Saving Throw none
Level cantrip

The cantrip cannot select specific items to gather from an assembly of things. It cannot usefully affect particles weighing less than 1/100th of an ounce, such as sand or dust; the cantrip's practical limit is 10,000 objects.

However, provided the object fits the magic's perameters, gather can be used to fetch things out of cracks or pull a key under a door and into the desired location. Likewise, objects might be drawn together out of a mud bank, since the silt would be too small for the cantrip to affect, while stones or bits of metal could be. Other innovative uses for the cantrip might be implemented by the players along these lines.
