Curdle transforms a quart of milk, beer, mead and other liquids so that it becomes clotted or coagulated, or separated into curds and lumps. With regard to the fluids named, this ruins the taste and makes them worthless. Curdling milk, however, can beneficially speed the process of making cheese.

The cantrip destroys the magical effects of potions, though it must be employed before the drink is quaffed. The cantrip can subvert the effects of poisonous or cursed potions. One could use the ruination of a patron's meal as a way to produce a distraction, as such would certainly cause anger and demands between the victim and proprietor.
