Message (spell).jpg

Message is a spell that empowers the caster to transmit a confidential communication to a recipient within the spell's effective radius. The caster must possess knowledge of the recipient's presence within the spell's range and be familiar with the recipient's identity. The spell cannot be used to send messages to unidentified individuals.

Duration 5 rounds per level
Area of Effect receiver
Casting Time 1 round
Saving Throw none

The caster need not have visual contact with the recipient or precise directional knowledge. The message is unbound by geography or physical barriers, effortlessly traversing substances like rock, water, or other materials. Furthermore, it can be directed into the Ethereal Plane without hindrance.

The message's length is limited to 20 words per round; thus the caster of 5th level can create a message up to 500 words. Upon receiving the message, the recipient can reply with a "yes" or "no," which is audible only by the caster. Others besides the caster and recipient won't hear the message, yet the act of spellcasting is noticeable to any observer that's present.
