Present (cantrip)
Range | 5 ft. |
Duration | instantaneous |
Area of Effect | 1 object |
Casting Time | 2 action points (AP) |
Saving Throw | none |
Level | cantrip |
Fetches any object to the caster’s hand or grasp, so long as it is within 5 feet. It requires one AP for the object to move from its location to the caster.
The object may not be larger than the caster is able to lift — thus something heavy, like a wagon, could not be compelled to roll or move closer to the caster.
Objects that are contained, such as coins in a pouch, or items in a sack, are considered part of the whole, so long at it is the container and the not the contents which are presented. Contained items can only be obtained by the cantrip if the container is open.
Other items that may be presented would include an opponent’s weapons or shields (unless it is strapped to the arm) … however, any item which is worn, slung over the shoulder or strapped to a person’s body are not affected by the cantrip. A pouch tied to a belt would be safe — unless the caster also employed an untie cantrip.
Present may not be used in conjunction with the cantrip palm… as the former cantrip in no way conceals the movement of the item from its location to the caster’s hand, thus spoiling the latter cantrip’s effect.
