Chill (cantrip)
Chill reduces the temperature of the area of effect by up to 30 degrees of ambient temperature. Since the term, "degree," is anachronistic for the D&D time period, "colder" is usually the term employed. The actual chilling requires but a few seconds; once the cantrip is discharged, the object will return to normal within 30 rounds (6 minutes).

Liquids will turn to ice or solid throughout the area if the temperature is reduced below freezing for that substance. With sufficient humidity, surfaces will become rimed with ice by the effect of the cantrip. However, the area of effect is so small that it's unlikely to cause a meaningful slip.
In warm temperatures, the cantrip will cool the surfaces of hot metal and other objects, so that they may be handled comfortably. It will also relieve an individual's heat exhaustion for a period of one hour, giving time for other remedies to be employed.
