Spill (cantrip)
Spill causes an unfixed container to tip over and scatter its contents, whether or not the lid is firmly closed. Depending on what's inside, the area of the spill will typically be half again as tall and wide as the originating container.
Range | 20 ft. |
Duration | permanent |
Area of Effect | 1 container; see text |
Casting Time | 2 action points |
Saving Throw | none |
Level | cantrip |
The cantrip doesn't have the power to flip over vehicles or boats, but a shelf can be made to fall over so long as it doesn't weigh more than 25 lbs. per level of the caster. Thus, heavy barrels full of ale or wine would be difficult to flip at low levels; these tend to be fastened or braced in any case. However, baskets, trays, dishes, cups, pots, sacks, buckets, open trunks, boxes and so on can be spilled, if their lids are not fixed closed.
These things can sometimes be tipped from a height, such as a goblet or bottle off a table. Some objects will need to save vs. a normal blow in these cases.
