Purify Water (spell).jpg

Purify Water transforms contaminated or filthy water into cool, clean aqua, as per the spell's area of effect. This includes transforming water-based beverages, such as wine or beer — though liquids that essentially do not contain water, such as vitriol, are not transformed. Living organisms and parasites are removed by the spell.

Purify Water
Range 40 ft.
Duration permanent
Area of Effect 8 gallons per level
Casting Time 1 round
Saving Throw none
Level druid (1st)

The temperature of water can be adjusted downwards from nearly boiling to where the water is cool and pleasant to drink; water that is colder than this cannot be warmed up. Steam and ice cannot be affected. A specific final temperature of warmer water cannot be chosen; "cool" is the only option.

Contaminate

The reverse of the spell, Contaminate, causes water to acquire a harsh mineral and metal taste, from the conjuration of tiny amounts of each. The spell can't be used to create parasites or poison, or to transform water into wine or like substance. The effects of contaminate will spoil both unholy and holy water alike.
