The vision depicted must be realistic and "believable." Perfectly ordinary scenes that might occur anywhere, incorporating movement and creatures going about they're daily lives, may be depicted ... but unrealistic situations, or specific depictions of creatures acting in a defined manner are not enabled by the cantrip. Thus, a lamplighter carrying a torch could be seen, but he or she couldn't be made to specifically gesture to an observer.
When seen, the vision will "seem" real; when employed in sufficiently poor light, the illusion can easily be used to conceal someone wishing to hide. The caster can see through the illusion from any direction, but others, even the caster's friends, are unable to do so. The illusion appears from the back the same as it does from the front.
The illusion can be projected at any angle, vertically or horizontally, as the caster wishes.
