The caster may create any 2 dimension image desired, with no depth whatsoever. Those who view the image are entitled to a saving throw, or else they will know what it is — but the two d’lusion will remain visible.
 
  
Common images would be an apparent hole, a mirror, a screen to conceal creatures, etc. Note that if the image is of the same nature as the background, it is less likely to be detected as an illusion. The image may be vertical or horizontal.

The vision depicted must be realistic and "believable."  Perfectly ordinary scenes that might occur anywhere, incorporating movement and creatures going about they're daily lives, may be depicted ... but unrealistic situations, or specific depictions of creatures acting in a defined manner are not enabled by the cantrip.  Thus, a lamplighter carrying a torch could be seen, but he or she couldn't be made to specifically gesture to an observer.

Two d'illusion enables the casting of a two-dimensional illusion that appears as a flat plane, the nature of which is immediately evident when viewed from the side. The effect that works best when projected on a flat surface that prevents seeing it from an angle, such as against a solid wall or from a sufficient distance.
