Wizard Lock (spell).jpg

Wizard Lock protects a door so it cannot be opened or even bashed through by intruders. It does not matter if the door is actually locked with a mechanical device; the wizard lock enchants the door so that creatures cannot will themselves to physically interact with the door.

Wizard Lock
Range touch
Duration permanent or until released
Area of Effect 1 door per level
Casting Time 1 round
Saving Throw none
Level mage (2nd)

The door, once wizard locked, cannot be opened by friend or foe, including the caster (who may, at will, dispel the lock).

Use of the spell knock will not open the door, though the spell dispel magic will. Barring these methods, the door can be bypassed by breaking through the wall adjacent, above or below the door - but note, even if such effort leaves the door suspended in space, such action will not break the enchantment of the door itself.

Ethereal or gaseous creatures, who are able to pass through the door without needing to move it, are unaffected by the spell.
