If the bug is kept in a bottle or otherwise controlled, it can be released in order to strike at desired time to coincide with another attack. However, the target must be visibly in view of the caster when the bug is created.

Contents

The bug is able to crawl up over a character's body, though it usually chooses to attack an ankle or whatever part is most quickly at hand.

Though the damage is very little, there's yet the possibility that the dweomer may stun a weak defender or generally contribute to an enemy's downfall. Additionally, the bite breaks the concentration of a spellcaster weaving a spell.

Duration

Unlike similar cantrips, the bug may be cast into a bottle of some kind, where it's able to endure for up to 1 hour. In this state, the bottle can be gifted to another for their use or retained until the bug is set free. Whomever opens the stopper can designate the bug's target, so long as line-of-sight exists. If the target isn't specifically chosen ahead of time, the bug bites the nearest enemy within it's 20 foot range.

The bottle can be thrown or dropped a great distance without affecting the bug's movement range, though the bottle must fail it's saving throw and break in order to release the effect. The bottle's breaking has no effect on the bug's existence or behaviour.

The bug cantrip is similar to a group of other personal cantrips that include bee, gadfly, mouse and spider.
