Leomund's Trap (spell).jpg

Leomund's trap is a spell designed to confound thieves and burglars, causing them to believe an object or an room is clearly trapped. The exact danger won't be evident, but those investigating an area will become absolutely certain that there are strands, tiny needles or hooks attached to purse strings, locks, hinges, handles or holes — though all of this is mere illusion.

Leomund's Trap
Range touch
Duration permanent; see text
Area of Effect 1 object per level
Casting Time 1 round
Saving Throw none; see text
Level mage (2nd)

To most observers, it will also be plainly evident that these traps are highly sophisticated and cannot be safely removed. Characters with the sage ability recognise dweomer will know the trap for what it is.

Up to one illusionary trap can be created and maintained per level. If the caster exceeds this limit, then the earliest existing Leomund's trap made by the caster is dispelled.

If the trap is ignored and "sprung," then nothing of consequence results.
