Engineering is a sage study in the fields of Reality and Science, imparting practical knowledge of invention, innovation, design, building, maintenance and improvement of machines and tools. The study enables the character to oversee the construction of various machines, including ships and other vehicles, siege engines, cranes, winches, pumps, water-driven equipment, foundries, flight, submersion and so on, given a sufficient amount of time and available labor. Engineering includes a wide variety of other knowledge, including surveying, the strengthening of fortifications, the shoring of tunnels, the creation of dykes and many other things, which in some cases overlaps with architecture.
