Aural Setting (sage ability)

Aural setting is an amateur-status sage ability that makes use of a natural setting's sounds and vibrations as accompaniment for a dance. This presumes the sounds are present and distinctly audible: a moaning wind, rustling leaves, a babbling brook or stream, waves upon a shore, the sound of thunder, a falling rain and so on. The sound must equal that of at least 20 decibels; if wind is necessary to produce the sound, it must be at minimum a gentle breeze.

The performance must be given upon natural earth, in bare feet; the audience must be fully able to hear the full sound of the nature, but may be somewhat sheltered. The performance requires some 5-20 minutes, during which any onlookers will be non-magically enthralled and desirious to watch.

Reaction

Seeing the dance, the audience's mood will be transformed, as the memory of the dance coupled with the natural sound becomes something remembered and uplifting. For that evening and night, the immediate area will be transformed to something approaching a glade, a place of beauty and peace. Those who rest for the purpose of healing will do so as if their experience level were one higher.
