'''Rattle''' creates a collection of sharp knocking sounds resembling items shaking or striking repeatedly off-rhythm, such as a chain being unwound or the sound of dice in a cup.  The bones of animated skeletons are often described as "rattling," and often it's this sound that's suspected upon hearing the cantrip's effect.

Produces the sound of chains rattling, or of dice in a cup.

The sound will serve as a distraction up to a 10 ft. distance, so that up to one chosen individual will need to make a save, or else suffer a one round 2 point penalty to their [[Armour Class|armour class]].

The cantrip can also be used to '''permanently''' cause the wheel of a cart or wagon to rattle as the vehicle moves along.  This has a 2 in 3 chance of causing the wagon's drive to stop and investigate, creating an opportunity for ambush.  The rattling sound can be cured with 8 ounces of lubricant.

The cantrip will also cause a wheel to rattle as it rolls around an axle. The cantrip has a 50% chance of causing a driver to stop and investigate for a period of 30 rounds. The rattle can be cured with 8 ounces of oil (drivers will use too little the first time, 75% of the time).

Rattle creates a collection of sharp knocking sounds resembling items shaking or striking repeatedly off-rhythm, such as a chain being unwound or the sound of dice in a cup. The bones of animated skeletons are often described as "rattling," and often it's this sound that's suspected upon hearing the cantrip's effect.

Rattle
Range 30 ft.
Duration 2 rounds; see below
Area of Effect 10 ft. circle, or up to 1 object
Casting Time 2 action points
Saving Throw negates
Level cantrip

On account of the last, the cantrip causes a shiver of fear to take hold of one recipient, who will be the only one to hear the produced sound. The sound is so strong that, unless a saving throw is made, the individual will be put off kilter, lowering their armour class by 4 points. This effect lasts for one full round of combat.

The cantrip can also be used to permanently cause the wheel of a cart or wagon to rattle as the vehicle moves along. This has a 2 in 3 chance of causing the wagon's drive to stop and investigate, creating an opportunity for ambush. The rattling sound can be cured with 8 ounces of lubricant.
