Causes all within the spell’s area of effect to appear as they really are.

Secret doors become plain. The exact location of displaced things is obvious. Invisible or ethereal objects and creatures become visible and take on their ordinary appearance. Illusions and phantasms are made evident. Polymorphed, magicked or transformed objects and persons are revealed in their original forms.

The spell also detects malevolence, determining which creatures mean to threaten the cleric and which are benign.

The reverse of the spell, false seeing, will cause others to perceive the cleric differently. In all cases the cleric will appear favorably to the viewer, but as anything other than what the cleric actually is. Radically different viewers will perceive the cleric differently, even as a different race or nature, seeing what they want to see — but the spell will discourage others from comparing notes.

The false seeing spell counteracts detect malevolence, and knowledge gained from know intent will be that which is most desired.

Those who are directly harmed by the cleric are entitled to a saving throw, which if successful will allow those persons to view the cleric accurately.
