Know Intent is a spell that reveals the immediate designs and objectives of a chosen subject for the next five rounds. The dweomer does not foretell events, but instead exposes the subject's present line of thought, allowing the caster to anticipate likely actions and respond accordingly. This foreknowledge may be used to avoid attacks, interrupt or evade spellcasting, determine hostility or alliance, prepare a defence or take measures to prevent the subject from acting. The spell does not extend to long-term plans or intentions beyond the stated duration.

The spell reveals the subject's disposition through its thoughts. Intentions involving harm, escape or ongoing deceit are made apparent, even if the subject is presently unable to act upon them. The clarity of what is revealed depends upon the subject's own certainty. If the subject has not settled upon a specific course — such as which direction to flee or what precise action to take — then the information remains incomplete. The dweomer reflects thought as it exists, not as it might later resolve. Where the subject has fixed upon a particular target or action, that knowledge is made clear.
Once cast, the spell does not require continuous concentration, but it does require attention. If the caster is distracted by conversation, combat or other demands, then the thoughts occurring during those moments are not perceived and are lost to the caster. The caster may examine one subject per round for the duration of the spell, provided the subject remains within the area of effect. Each subject is read individually; the spell does not grant simultaneous awareness of multiple minds.
If the subject is under possession, the spell reveals the intent of the possessing entity rather than the host, and makes it evident that another will is present controlling the body.
