Heroes Feast (spell).jpg

Heroes' Feast is a spell that enables the caster to bring forth a tremendous banquet, sufficient to feed as many as 1,000 persons, providing each with a full and sustaining meal even under the strain of recent battle or hardship. The feast appears complete and ready, requiring no preparation, its abundance and variety immediately evident to all present.

Heroes' Feast
Range 10 ft.
Duration 4 hours
Area of Effect 30 ft. by 60 ft. area
Casting Time 3 rounds
Saving Throw none
Level cleric (6th)

The food consists of great haunches of meat turning upon spits over open fires, loaves of bread stacked in standing baskets, wooden bowls filled with apples and other fruits, tureens of stew and vegetables, cakes and pies in quantity, barrels of ale, mead and wine, pails of milk and flagons of water, along with blocks of cheese set upon boards. These are laid out in such a way that those attending may move freely among them, taking what they wish without restriction. The fires, spits, vessels and all remaining food and drink vanish at once when the spell’s duration expires, leaving no trace behind.

Any person who partakes of a full meal from the feast, equalling in its effect a total of six pounds of food, sufficient for after a battle, whether or not that much is eaten. This will, among other things, heal two hit points. In addition, those so fed gain a +2 bonus to saving throws against suggestion, charm person and other effects that influence the mind. A further +2 is added to their morale dice, reflecting the strengthening of spirit brought about by the meal.

Those who have eaten do not feel heavy or fatigued afterwards, but instead experience a sense of fullness accompanied by renewed strength and readiness, as though their bodies have been restored rather than burdened by the food.
