I am fed up with people commandeering this wiki without speaking to me first, so I am drawing a line.

Scarbrow co-opted this existing page to describe policies, suggestions, templates and so on ... but these were not MY policies or MY suggestionsThey were what Scarbrow thought my policies and suggestions OUGHT to "logically" be, from his perspective.

(1) Copy over Monsters, Spells and Sage Abilities pages.  Declare your territory and then stick to it, until it is over.  Carl, I know, is working on Cleric spells. Shelby is working on Monsters. Call Illusionist Spells, Mage Spells, Druid Spells, Bard Spells or CantripsOr if you feel bold, call Sage Abilities — but take note, don't feel the need to expand on the abilities (leave that for me).

And I have had similar activities from Sebastian and ShelbyAnd while I have tried to roll with it this last week, I'm fed up.

(2) Add links to existing pages, correct spelling errors, and please check your links if you're cutting and pasting from the old blog wikiVery often, the links from the old wiki are broken or the names have been changed for this wiki.

So let's have a few things clear.  Shelby, Sebastian and Scarbrow, you are welcome to '''HELP'''.  But you are not running this show.  I amAnd I don't care that I'm not as wiki-savvy as any of you.  I know what I want this wiki to look like, I know what I want this wiki to provide and I know what the future of this wiki is going to be.  And you don't.  So if you want to be here, and you want to help Me in My agenda, and not your own, you're going to get in line. Or you're going to go.

(3) Someone please teach me how to tag pages that I've edited.  Shelby, you mentioned how to sign off on a Talk page comment; but I missed itDescribe that process to me also, please.

1.  '''Except for the bestiarychart and spelltemplate''', which Shelby DID convince me to pursue, I want everything else stripped out of this wiki that has been put here without my say so in the last eleven days.  This does not mean taking pages down, but it does mean I want every category deleted, I want every code deleted, I want every tree deleted, I want every imported maintenence template deleted, I want every fiddly note or placeholder or bymark or whatever the hell has been added without my say-so stripped off this wiki, period.  You all feel perfectly comfortable inventing work for me by making me have to keep track of things I didn't invent, so I don't feel a bit sorry for you having to waste your time.  You've been wasting my time this last week with this frivolous nonsense.  Now its your turn.

Where possible, please correct minor details on wiki pages.

2Once it's gone, then IF I'm going to use it, YOU will email me first and TALK TO ME, explaining why it is necessary, and I will decide if I think it is. I don't care if that makes me old school or unreasonable or stupid; I have worked in several office environments where the work was slowed to a halt because of this kind of redundant programming nonsense and that is not what is going to happen to this wiki.

:* Replace "~" or "-" or "--" used as a dash, please replace it with an em dash found under special characters.  Please put a blank space on either side of the em dashDo this: "if — then" not "if—then".

:* Use ordinals without superscript to describe experience levels: always say, "1st level", not "first level." (a mistake I tend to make, but would rather not).
3.  We are going to build this wiki TOGETHER, or I'm going to do it aloneIs that clear?

:* Please do not use ' for feet or " for inches.  These should be written "ft." or "in."  In tables, diameter can be shortened to "diam."

+
:* The phrase "to hit" does not need to be written inside single quotes (but link it to the page, "roll to hit").
If it isn't, there's the door.  I built this wiki by myself the first time and I'm ready to work as hard as I have to do it again. I asked for helpI did not ask for people to run around doing whatever they fuck they wanted.
+
:* If a spell has an effect or duration with a base number and an added number per level, this should be written with a space between the first number and the addition: "2 +2/level" ... it should not be written, "2+2/level".  This should be standard in other similar situations.

+
:* The first time a post refers to [[Action Points|action points]], please write this as "action points (AP)"; thereafter, use "AP." If the post does not use action points a second time in the course of the post, do not include the shortened form the first time the rule is quoted.
Now, if you want to find me, and talk to me, about why you shouldn't have to take down your categories, trees and whatever else, I'll listen.  Come with a good argument.  I'm through wasting my time on things I don't care about.
+
:* "hp" is acceptable; it does not need to be "h.p.", but the latter is acceptablePlease do not use "exp.", "x.p." or "XP" to describe experience.  It should be "X.P." or written out.  If space is an issue, rounds may be shortened to "rnd" or "rnds"; level may be shortened to "lvl" or "lvls".  I can't think of an example where space would be an issue.

Editorial Guidelines

Where possible, please correct minor details on wiki pages.

  • Replace "~" or "-" or "--" used as a dash, please replace it with an em dash found under special characters. Please put a blank space on either side of the em dash. Do this: "if — then" not "if—then".
  • Use ordinals without superscript to describe experience levels: always say, "1st level", not "first level." (a mistake I tend to make, but would rather not).
  • Please do not use ' for feet or " for inches. These should be written "ft." or "in." In tables, diameter can be shortened to "diam."
  • The phrase "to hit" does not need to be written inside single quotes (but link it to the page, "roll to hit").
  • If a spell has an effect or duration with a base number and an added number per level, this should be written with a space between the first number and the addition: "2 +2/level" ... it should not be written, "2+2/level". This should be standard in other similar situations.
  • The first time a post refers to action points, please write this as "action points (AP)"; thereafter, use "AP." If the post does not use action points a second time in the course of the post, do not include the shortened form the first time the rule is quoted.
  • "hp" is acceptable; it does not need to be "h.p.", but the latter is acceptable. Please do not use "exp.", "x.p." or "XP" to describe experience. It should be "X.P." or written out. If space is an issue, rounds may be shortened to "rnd" or "rnds"; level may be shortened to "lvl" or "lvls". I can't think of an example where space would be an issue.
